Questions and Answers

How did you get into barbering?
I’ve been in the seafood industry most of my life, but barbering has always been in the picture too. I did my very first haircut back in high school—it wasn’t flash, but the grind never stopped! I’ve now got around three years of shop experience, and I knew I wanted to get into the industry once I realised the passion I had for it. Seeing my friends and family’s happy faces after a fresh cut made me happy too.
What do you love most about barbering?
Seeing my artwork on someone’s head as they walk out of the chair with a smile on their face fills my cup. It reminds me what it means to be part of men’s grooming—helping men feel that self-love they didn’t even know they needed.
What are your interests outside of barbering?
Sports in general, but especially rugby league. I love my culture—hearing Cook Island drums instantly grabs my attention! I’m also big on the outdoors: camping, fishing, dirt bikes, and shooting hoops at the local park are what I call fun.
What's your dream holiday?
To travel with my wife and kids to every island in the Cook Islands, and also to visit Samoa with my wife to reconnect with my homeland.
